Strategic Planning and Resource Development
(July 2007 - March 2008)
2007 marks ACTEW’s 20th Anniversary. Through funding from the Trillium Foundation, ACTEW is embarking on a strategic planning and resource development process in the summer of 2007. The planning process will be completed in the spring of 2008 and the resulting strategies will be carried out over 2008-2011.
Overview:
ACTEW’s strategic planning will take advantage of momentum from recent successes and our growing entrepreneurial focus. Through participation and contributions from our members and select key stakeholders, the ACTEW Board of Directors and staff will develop strategies to stabilize and capitalize on the organization’s capacity.
The planning process will allow ACTEW to explore the potential of emerging service delivery or sector development needs and assess the feasibility of specific revenue-generation approaches to meet those needs and support the organization’s long-term strategic goals.
Project Phases:
- Strategic Directions
Set 3-5 strategic goals as the basis for an action plan for 2008-2010, including a review of ACTEW’s mission and mandate to reflect the organization’s long-term vision and objectives.
- Business Plans
Set out action steps and identify the resources required to achieve each strategic direction.
- Resources Development Plans
Assess ACTEW’s resources development capacity and establish revenue generation sources and targets.
- Implementation Plans
Develop a three-year Strategic and Business Plan Report, including a “roadmap” for each of the three years covered by the strategic and revenue generation plans.
